On and Off the Court, YAAACE continues to Win!
Its been a long hard fought journey for the YAAACE program, but with a strong foundation and a even stronger mission, the YAAACE organization has become one of the top elite programs in the OBA. This year they have set higher goals on the road to the Provincials, Gold all the way through in the 2009-10 season! After stellar performances last year at almost every age level (Atom boys U11-Bronze, Major Atom U12-Gold, Bantam U13-Silver, D2 Major Bantam U14-Bronze, Midget U15-Gold and Juvenile U17-Bronze) the proof is in the pudding so to speak! But the success on the court is just a corner of the entire blocks YAAACE is trying to cover. This organization's mission is to develop youth culturally, academically and socially to empower the youth for tomorrow! Although focusing mainly with the Jane & Finch community, the ideas of the two co-founders Devon Thompson and Devon Jones, has seem to have a domino effect on other communities bringing youths from areas across the city. With a strong tutoring program, The Boys 2 Men project and a solid partnership with the Toronto District School Board and Seneca College at York University, students have the ability to excel in programs such as they're new web casting initiative and more.

Back to the hardwood, its all about the mission, and this year the focus is to maintain that elite status and continue developing future stars on and off the court. The bantam team has shown dominance throughout their age division and are looking to repeat as provincial gold medallist in the 2K10. With arguably one of the best 12 year olds in North America in 6'4 Justin Jackson. Add along with the canny guard duo of Goodwin Bohean and Jordan Holness as the floor general and slasher, this team is a force. Justin, has the potential to be one of the best, and the rest of the bunch from 1 to 12, are just as vocal and dominant, as proven this year at both the Stop the Guns Tournament and the SBA Hoopdome Tournament, as Coach Jordan Mac lead them to easy victories in both events.

The mission is clear for YAAACE, on and off the court, and that's to breed success and continue building that foundation!
